The “White” Pizza with Alfredo Sauce, Onions, Chicken, and Parmesan Cheese sprinkled on top after it’s cooked. This medley like the Beatles "White album" may LOOK unusual as far a pizza is concerned but once your taste buds experience it, you know its gonna be a instant classic.
The story of Alfredo begins in 1914 with a poor appetite: Roman restaurateur Alfredo Di Lelio tried to revive his wife's appetite after the birth of their son by serving her a plate of egg-rich fettuccine with the best Roman butter and the core of the finest Parmigiano-Reggiano. It worked, but the fame of the dish had to wait for the arrival of Hollywood stars Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, who sampled the dish at Alfredo's on their Roman honeymoon and returned to dine there every night, leaving Alfredo with the gift of golden serving spoon and fork inscribed "To Alfredo the King of the noodles July 1927."
Small $12.50, Medium $17.99, Large $22.50

My mouth watered as the smell of real cheese, fresh vegetables, and sauce wafted in my direction. I looked down at my week old pizza which I delicately (and deliberately) stored in the freezer still looking fresh as ever. One bite and I was in heaven. After living in Italy for 10 weeks, visiting all the noteworthy pizza places in New york, Chicago, and New Jersey, I have to say...questo pizza e molto deliziosa. And what an honor to be only 2 hours away from it...those of you who live closeby, take advantage of this gem. This is truly an "italian pizza" made with wheat crust and real cheese! A healthy alternative to the so called "pizza" places in this day and age. Parking is a bit tough but if I'm willing to drive 2 hours to pick up pizzas at this place, you all better be willing to spend 5 minutes looking for parking.
If you eat here, you must try the pepperoni and Italian sausage. They are truly amazing. I have had pizza from an array pizzeria's, mostly in and around the San Francisco bay area, and I can safetly say that Barone's is up there with the best. I got a tip from someone to leave the left overs in the fridge for a day or two and it tastes better. Though, I wouldn't consider the taste better (not worse either), but it is definitely different and worth a try.

REVIEWAnthony P. 11/27/2011 ***** Los Angeles, CA I've been to Italy a couple times and had my fair share of NY and Chicago-style pizzas. I'm not sure what the origins of this pizza is but it's amazing. I'm addicted to Barone's and eat until I'm immobile. I wish they had a location in LA. Until then, I will drive just to enjoy this place.
REVIEWFlorence L. 11/9/2011 **** WOODLAND HLS, CA Ordered late night, Right before they closed. They delivered in a flash and the pizza was BOMB! My friend called it in so the toppings were Tomato, basil and pepperoni and the pizza was super thin crust. I loved how crunchy it was. Not a big thin crust fan, but it was good. Ill have to go check it out another time and order it my way =)...! It was so yummy, but I always think Pizza is yummy!
REVIEWJerry K. 10/20/2011 **** WOODLAND HLS, CA I was dismayed when they closed the original Barone's in Sherman Oaks - my favrorite piza place. Guess what - the new Barone's is just 5 blocks from my house. I love their pepperoni with bell pepper. I always order my pizza to go. Small take out place. A bit pricey, but well worth it to me. Street parking.
Last week, our office lost a death penalty lawyer who has been battling Lou Gehrig's disease for the past year. He was a strong advocate, a fighter, and a mentor to many. He also loved his pizza. Raised in the Bronx, my friend was obsessed with pizza, specifically NY-style thin crust. When his teenage son gave the eulogy, he announced that his father's favorite pizzeria this side of the Missisippi was, in fact, Barone's. His actual words were, "I don't know why Pops always made us eat there. The pizza made me want to puke." A good attorney always raises honest children. After the service, a few of us decided to track down this place to judge for ourselves. We ordered a large square pizza, with half pepperoni and half white sauce (alfredo + chicken). I've been low-carbin it and feeling good all week. After one bite of the white sauce pizza, however, I proceeded to devour four pieces, eyeing each next piece hungrily as I was still finishing the one I was holding. Somehow Barone's pizza transformed a somber occasion into a stuff-your-face fest. I'm not much of a pizza person, but to satisfy the occasional craving, I just might drive all the way out to Woodland HIlls from now on. Better than CPK, better than Pitfire in DTLA, better than any other pizza I've had out here. It's the cheese.. And to my friend, thanks for teaching so many of us the ropes in felony practice, thanks for keeping me updated on the newest technological devices, and now, thank you for pointing me out to the best pizza in LA. You will be missed for all of it. Seriously, thanks for being an inspiration.
